APPLICATIONS

Now open for the 2025-2026 school year.

Nominations are due APRIL 7TH.

Statements of intent will be due April 14TH.

Voting will take place APRIL 18TH-21ST

New Executive Board will be announced on APRIL 22ND, the chairs will be placed by the Executive Board at a later time 

Read the requirements for each position carefully before applying.

 

Executive Positions

President

  • Required to be on campus BOTH SEMESTERS

  • The executive head of the Chapter and acting spokesperson/representative of the Chapter at all meetings, organizations, & committees unless delegated otherwise.

  • Presents updates at Convocations and Awards Day

    • Meets with school head and attends monthly faculty meetings as needed.

Vice President of External Affairs

  • Required to be on campus BOTH SEMESTERS

  • Will serve as president in the event of absence, disability, refusal, or failure of the elected President.

  • Acts as a liaison between AU AIAS and AIA Alabama, AIAS National, and the Community.

  • Oversees external committees and events through their respective directors.

  • Must join NAAB Accreditation Site Visitor

Vice President of Internal Affairs

  • Required to be on campus BOTH SEMESTERS

  • Will serve as president in the event of absence, disability, refusal, or failure of the elected President.

  • Acts as a liaison between AU AIAS and the membership.

  • Oversees the chairs and associated events.

Treasurer

  • Required to be on campus BOTH SEMESTERS

  • Supervises all financial affairs.

  • Keeps records of financial accounts.

  • Prepares budgets

  • Collects amounts due.

  • Custody of chapter funds and money.

Secretary

  • Required to be on campus BOTH SEMESTERS

  • Acts as the historian for all chapter activities.

  • Records meeting minutes.

  • Updates officer handbook.

  • Maintains the chapter calendar.

  • Responsible for keeping all communication avenues up to date.

Chairs

Pumpkin Carve Chair(s)

  • Attend monthly board meetings.

  • Direct planning, organizing, fundraising, and making sure Pumpkin Carve runs smoothly.

  • Co-chairs can be selected in the event of additional assistance needed. Will be required to submit a statement of intent.

Dog days Chair(s)

  • Attend monthly board meetings.

  • Coordinated shopping, organizing, and promoting Dog Days every Friday (weather permitting).

  • Appoints grillers and delegates clean-up.

  • Co-chairs can be selected in the event of additional assistance needed. Will be required to submit a statement of intent.

NCARB Chair

  • Attend monthly board meetings.

  • Available to answer any NCARB questions.

  • Hosts sign-up information sessions during each semester.

  • Strongly encouraged to attend the Licensing Advisor’s Summit in the Fall (AUG)

Social Chair(s)

  • Attend monthly board meetings.

  • Direct planning, organizing, fundraising and managing of the several social events hosted throughout the year.

    • Beaux Arts Ball

  • Co-chairs can be selected in the event of additional assistance needed. Will be required to submit a statement of intent.

Freshmen Education Chair(s)

  • Attend monthly board meetings.

  • In charge of the AIAS mentorship program and associated events.

  • Co-chairs can be selected in the event of additional assistance needed. Will be required to submit a statement of intent.

Activities Chair(s)

  • Attend monthly board meetings.

  • Regulates the planning and hosting of all activities and sports for the chapter.

    • Field Day

    • Anything else the chair would like to instigate

  • Co-chairs can be selected in the event of additional assistance needed. Will be required to submit a statement of intent.
